Privacy & your data
This is a private, just-for-fun office World Cup pool. We keep the data we store to the minimum needed to run it. Here's exactly what that is.
What we store
- Your email address (to sign in, verify your account and send pool emails).
- Your full name and nickname.
- Optional profile photo and short bio, if you add them.
- Your company level and team (used only for the fun per-team / per-level stats).
- Your predictions, bracket picks and bonus answers, and whether you've paid the entry fee.
Why we store it
Purely to run the pool: to log you in, show the leaderboard and statistics, score your predictions and track the prize pot. The legal basis is your consent, which you give when you create an account.
Who can see what
Your nickname, photo and bio are visible to other players (on the leaderboard and your public profile). Your email and full name are private — they are never shown to other players or included in data exports.
Who we share it with
Nobody, beyond the infrastructure needed to run the site: hosting (Vercel), the database (Neon) and transactional email (Resend) — only to deliver the verification and password-reset emails. We never sell or share your data for advertising.
How long we keep it
For the duration of the tournament and a short while after, so we can settle the prize and you can look back at the final results. After that — or whenever you ask — your data is deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete any of your data at any time. You can edit most of it yourself on your profile page; for anything else (including full deletion of your account and all your picks), email the pool organiser at n.borst33@gmail.com.
